"A recent murder-suicide case in Westbrook, Maine is making police think
twice about the seriousness of gay domestic violence. The bodies of
22-year old Matthew Rairdon and 30-year old Patrick Milliner were
discovered in Rairdon’s apartment Saturday morning by a female roommate.
According to state police, it appears that Millinar shot Rairdon with a
.40-caliber handgun, then shot himself.
The couple had been in an on again-off again relationship. The most recent breakup came last month, as Milliner began his training at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. According to a 1,900 word piece written by Milliner, he said he grew suspicious that Rairdon was seeing other people and confronted him about it, which lead to the breakup.
Reports concluded the shootings likely took place early Saturday morning as Rairdon was returning home from his job as an emergency nurse at Mercy Hospital. The assumption is that Milliner had been waiting for him to return home. No telling what happened the minutes leading up to the shooting, but whatever happened, it appeared to by unlike Milliner to act on his aggression." Full story here!
