Harlem Pastor Defends Stance Of Stoning Gays

Pastor James David Manning of ATLAH World Missionary Church on 123rd Street in New York City's Harlem neighborhood has taken to YouTube to comment on the endorsement for the murder of homosexuals on his church's marquee, an endorsement that the church wasn't quite prepared to follow through on as one lesbian revealed. Manning takes the time to clarify,

I never said that I would stone homos. I never said that. I never said that I would ask anyone else to stone homos. I never said that. What I did say is what the Bible says, and I gave several verses within the word of God that would demonstrate why I believe that Jesus would stone homos.

He then proceeds to quite the predictable verses from Old Testament laws, Leviticus in particular, and then performs some remarkable intellectual gymnastics to interpret the story from John about whether or not an adulteress should be stoned - the story where Jesus said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" - as approval for public execution. Therefore, because Jesus did call for her execution (even though he cast no stones himself despite being the only sinless one there), he would approve the execution of homosexuals as well, even though it's a topic never addressed by Jesus anywhere between Genesis and Revelations.
