Anti-gay hate group planning something big and especially homophobic for 2015

I got an email asking for money from the anti-gay American Family Association and its president, Tim Wildmon, earlier this week. Included in the ask was the above statement. Apparently AFA has big plans for 2015 and those plans will involve attempting to make life for the lgbt community all sorts of hell.

No matter. I've a couple of plans myself. And knowing the American Family Association and its reluctance to put a kibosh on the mouth of its most visible member, Bryan Fischer, I'm willing to wager that my plans will succeed and theirs will fail.

American Family Association Blatantly Ignores IRS Laws In Promoting Conservative Candidates

Every election season, religious groups flirt with the line between political action allowed under IRS non-profit guidelines and outright endorsing candidates, which is prohibited by the 501(c)(3) guidelines. This year, the American Family Association, which is a well-known right-wing conservative religious group, has apparently blatantly violated those laws.

My friend Lamar from CenLamar.com has forwarded an email to me that was sent to him by a friend. In it, the American Family Association not only violates non-profit rules as set forth by the IRS, it also encourages pastors to endorse specific candidates to their congregations. While this isn’t the first time that conservative religious organizations have flaunted the law governing what they can and cannot do as a non-profit, this may be one of the most flagrant violations yet.

The email was sent out to an unknown number of recipients, requesting that they use the resources provided by the American Family Association to persuade their congregations to vote for candidates picked by the AFA. Below is a screenshot of the email itself dated October 28th, 2014 which was sent from the email address pastors@afasv.net with the “reply to” email of contact@afa.net, and the subject line “Pastors, are you ready to lead?”

It also includes a link to this .pdf flyer that states positions to take on issues that don’t fall under the usual opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage.

American Family Association: Obama Is Protecting Satan Worshippers In Iraq

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is outraged that the U.S. is intervening in Iraq to stop ISIS, who has been attacking Christians and other Muslims throughout the country. Fischer believes that President Obama only intervened to stop the extermination of the Yazidis, who practice an ancient religion yet are considered by ISIS fighters and others to be “devil worshipers.” He began today’s edition of “Focal Point” by railing against Obama, saying the president only decided to launch airstrikes in Iraq in order to defend “devil worshipers.” “They go after devil worshipers and all of the sudden the entire weight of the United States government is sent in there to relieve them and to avenge them,” he said. “Those are the Yazidis.”

Defying the Constitution, which gives only Congress the authority to make laws, President Obama decreed that anyone who does business with the federal government must adopt written policies that specifically mandate special protections for “sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.” Obama’s love affair with homosexuality will impact some 24,000 companies with 28 million workers, or one-fifth of the U.S. workforce. More alarming, his order discriminates against Christians.

In most cases, the government uses private and locally-owned civilian businesses to provide services. 

Examples include construction companies (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.), health care professions, retail vendors (Walmart, Menard’s, restaurant chains), hotels and airlines. Without an exemption,Obama is ordering Christians to embrace sin and forfeit their faith convictions if they want to have the same business opportunities as non-Christian businesses. Obama has overstepped his authority and treats Christians as second-class citizens.

Read the email that the AFA is urging its followers to send: 

I am deeply concerned by your executive order this week giving minorities the same rights and privileges that Christians have enjoyed for half a century, based solely on who they have steamy, wildly inventive, and deeply satisfying sex with. I believe all minorities should be treated as non-white, non-Christians were treated during the Middle Ages, but you have given preferential treatment to a fabulous lifestyle and not our chosen philosophy. More concerning is your decision to ignore the numerous pleas from KKK-affiliated hate groups to include exemptions for those who hold deep religious prejudices. In essence, you are discriminating against bigots and placing them at a great disadvantage when bidding to do business with the federal government. I am sending a copy of this message to my members of Congress, urging them to overturn your executive order by whatever means necessary, including fasting and holding their breath, to rein in your totally legal order and insure that Christians are free to practice their faith while pushing lesser Americans to the side.

I substituted a few words above, but hey, the AFA's action alert does invite one to "edit or add your own text." Hit the link for the original suggested message. (I did leave "insure" as is because ha ha.)

AFA Refuses Donation With Milk Stamp

How much do anti-gay groups hate the new Harvey Milk stamps from the U.S. Postal Service? One organization refused to even open a mailed donation to their cause using one such stamp as postage. Staying true to their announcement that they would boycott all mail with the Milk stamps, the American Family Association toldThe Wire that the organization had mailed back our attempted $5 donation to their anti-gay group unopened. Speaking to The Wire, AFA's Director of Issues Analysis Bryan Fischer said that the very existence of the Harvey Milk stamp was akin to "honoring Jeffrey Dahmer on a postage stamp designed to honor the culinary arts." That's because Fischer and the AFA, citing a line from a biography of Milk, believe that Milk was a sexual predator. "He is not somebody that should ever be honored on a postage stamp," Fischer said.

American Family Association Tells Members to Send Back All Mail Bearing a Harvey Milk Stamp

The American Family Association is instructing its members to send back all the mail they receive that comes bearing a Harvey Milk stamp, in a comical pearl-clutching alert:

The Harvey Milk stamp was a result of seven years of lobbying by a self-described drag queen (a biological man with implanted breasts) and former transsexual prostitute Nicole Murray Ramirez of San Diego. 

Honoring predator Harvey Milk on a U.S. postage stamp is disturbing to say the least. Harvey Milk was a very disreputable man and used his charm and power to prey on young boys with emotional problems and drug addiction. He is the last person we should be featuring on a stamp. 

Unfortunately, the deed is done. The United States Postal Service honored a child predator at the whim of a drag queen. 

Furthermore, the radical homosexual lobby will undoubtedly encourage businesses to use these stamps - all in the name of inclusiveness, political correctness and diversity. This is not diversity; this is perversity. 

What you can do… 

1. Refuse to accept the Harvey Milk stamp if offered by your local post office. Instead, ask for a stamp of the United States flag. 

2. Refuse to accept mail at your home or business if it is postmarked with the Harvey Milk stamp. Simply write 'Return to Sender" on the envelope and tell your postman you won't accept it.

Right Wing Groups Boycott Girl Scout Cookies Over Lesbian Role Models, 'Very Liberal' Activities

The American Family Association, Family Research Council, and other right-wing organizations will not be enjoying the bounty of Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs offered by the Girl Scouts of America this year. The reason? According to AFA president Tim Wildmon, "buying Girl Scout cookies serves only to further facilitate a very liberal pro-abortion agenda.” Right Wing Watch reports:

WND has reported on a variety of activities on the part of Girl Scouts that conservatives and religious believers might find objectionable, including when the organization was found touting a pro-abortion politician.

Girl Scouts also marched in a homosexual promotion in San Francisco and were found to be removing “God” from their “Girl Scout Promise.”

They also have incorporated stone labyrinths, global warming, yoga, avatars, smudging incense, Zen gardens and lesbian role models into their teachings.

In a lesson called “Amaze: The Twists and Turns of Getting Along,” girls were taught that they should read Buddha and explore mazes and stone or dirt labyrinths – symbols rooted in pagan mythology and popular within the New Age movement as meditation tools.

They also were introduced to Polish poet Anna Swir, known for her feminist and erotic poems, and Jane Addams, an ardent feminist and pacifist.

Perhaps most disturbing, and ironic, is the ardent opposition Girl Scouts face from Concerned Women for America.

CWA’s Janice Shaw Crouse told WorldNetDaily, “The Girl Scouts formerly embraced the Judeo-Christian values that Americans once grew up with – love of God, love of country, treating others fairly and living wholesome lives. Now, Girl Scouts are more focused on indoctrinating girls on the so-called women’s rights agenda.” 

These complaints smack of earlier concerns from the likes of Indiana Rep. Bob Morris and transphobic girl scout Taylor.

Bryan Fischer: 'Homosexual Mafia', Obama are Purging America of Jesus Christ

Following the recent closure of an Oregon bakery that previously refused to sell a wedding cake to a lesbian couple and an Air Force officer allegedly being punished by his lesbian superior for objecting to gay marriage, American Family Association spokesperson Bryan Fischer took the opportunity to decry both incidents as examples of anti-Christian hate endemic in Obama's America. Right Wing Watch reports:

“This is happening everywhere,” Fischer argued. “That bakery couple in Oregon had their bakery completely shut down by a homosexual mob, a homosexual mafia; they cried ‘Homo-Akbar!’ and assaulted, stormed metaphorically, the bakery and got it completely shut down.”

Later in the segment, the Focal Point host maintained that President Obama “has made it a criminal offense to be a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ in the United States Military” and accused Obama of “leading this purge of Christians from the military. This is ethnic cleansing, this is spiritual cleansing.”

AFA's Bryan Fischer Claims Gay Activists Are Modern Day Nazi Stormtroopers

American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fisher yesterday rehashed his claim that gay rights activists are modern day Nazis who seek to do to Christians what the Nazis did to the Jews.

Fischer, who knows "for a matter of historical record" that Hitler's top stormtroopers were all gay and that the Nazi Party started in a gay bar, says that the "thuggish, totalitarian, and repressive" tactics of gay rights advocates are proof of their Nazi roots:

"That's what homosexual activists want to do today. Not physically, but through intimidation and legal action and harassment do the same thing to Christians today. They are not content to 'live and let live.' They've go to punish. They've got to destroy. They've got to eliminate. They've got to marginalize. They've got to neutralize. They've got to completely silence any voice that defends man-woman marriage and the abiding truths of the word of God."

Bryan Fischer: Hillary Clinton Won't Win In 2016 Because She'll Be A 'Saggy Old Woman'

The AFA's Bryan Fischer is the homophobic gift that keeps on giving. Any time there's a controversy surrounding gay people...be it human rights violations in Russia, homophobic politicians, or futile attempts to revive anti-gay laws, we can always count on Fischer to spew ignorant and hateful vitriol. 

But we'd like you all to know that Fischer is more than just a homophobe. He's also a vocal and blatant misogynist. His most recent brush with sexism came earlier this week on his radio show, where he dismissed the possibility of a Hillary Clinton presidency simply because of what she might look like in three years:

"She's just going to be too old, going to be too saggy, gravity will have done too much of its mojo on her; she's just going to look old and tired next to virtually anybody that the Republicans run out there."

We're not exactly sure what's most problematic about his so-called "logic". Maybe it's the fact that Fischer doesn't seem at all concerned with his own sagginess...

AFA's Bryan Fischer Applauds Russia's Anti-Gay Law as an Example of Model Public Policy

American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fischer took to the airwaves on Monday to applaud Russia's anti-gay "propaganda" law as an example of the type of public policy he's been advocating for years. Fischer, who sees the law as Putin's attempt to reestablish 'Christian morality' for the country, then wondered why why so few anti-gay activists have been willing to stand up in defense of Russia.

Said Fischer:

"What Russia's done here with this law is they have expressed the values that we have been advocating for years and years and years....In my mind, we ought to be celebrating this. And I don't know what the timidity is. There's such a hesitancy in the pro-family community to support this law. I'm not sure what the reason for that is. But this is public policy that we've been advocating and here's a nation in the world that's actually putting it into practice."

Fischer's sole criticism of the anti-gay law is that it unfortunately doesn't go far enough to combat the scourge of homosexuality:

"They understand that homosexual behavior is a moral evil among teenagers. Now they need to get to the point where they recognize it's a moral evil for anybody."

Bryan Fischer: Liberals Support Immigration Because They Are Being 'Out-bred' By Conservatives

American Family Association radio host Bryan Fischer weighed in on the ongoing immigration reform debate and explained that liberals are prone to support immigration reform because conservatives are "outbreeding" liberals and so "ten, twenty years down the road, they're just going to be outnumbered." Right Wing Watch reports:

"We are breeding our own voters," Fischer said. "They [liberals] have got to import them...so that's why they're so enamored with illegal aliens and amnesty for them is they've got to find some way to get these people on the voter rolls just to maintain numerical parity with conservatives."

Seriously the conservatives need to stop breeding. Increasing the stupidity of our country isn't good in the long run!

AFA's Brian Fischer: Mormons ok with gays in BSA because they want polygamy!

Even though he has "no evidence that this is the case," American Family Association radio host Bryan Fischer has figured out why the Mormon church ended up supporting the 'Boy Sodomizers of America' decision to lift the ban on gay scouts, Right Wing Watch reports, and it fits neatly into the longtime right-wing talking points that gay marriage will lead to polygamy.

Says Fischer:

"The LDS leadership, these people are smart, they're sharp, they're thinking all the time and I believe one of the reasons they may have gone soft on the homosexual agenda is that they believe that the homosexual agenda may be the secret to restoring polygamy to America and this would vindicate Mormon doctrine from the very beginning."
