GOP lobbyist drafting legislation to ban gays from NFL

A big-time Republican lobbyist in Washington, DC is reportedly drafting legislation to ban gays from playing professional football.

According to the Hill, Jack Burkman, who runs his own firm, J M Burkman & Associates, fears that we are “losing our decency as a nation,” now that young gay college students are permitted to dream of joinining the National Football League (NFL).

Burkman, whose recent clients have included Apache Oil Company, Circular Energy, Clean Green Conversions, Consolidated Distributors Inc., Cutting Edge Formulations, KLD Energy Technologies, Limited Energy Storage Resources and Luna Road, says Michael Sams coming out as gay a few weeks ago was the last straw.

“Imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man,” Burkman said in a statement. “That’s a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country. What in the world has this nation come to?”

Of course, your son is already showering with gay men in gym class, at the health club, in the US military, in the NFL, and in the US Congress. The only difference is that in some of those places, your son is simply not aware of who the gay guy is. The NFL being more welcoming to gays won’t change the simple fact that just because you don’t know who’s gay, doesn’t mean the gay men aren’t already there.

Uh, no, it’s not a fact anywhere outside of far-right GOP hate groups.

This isn’t the first time that Burkman has said something stupid about gays.  Last year, he claimed that gays molest children (you’ll find that doozy in the video below):

You know, and it’s a fact that gays, gays have a much much higher molestation rate of small children than straight people….

Well, they convert. You know, they’re trained – what really gets me about the gay movement today is they train young members to convert others. It’s like an extremist religion. It’s almost like Islam. You’re trained to do these conversions…. They do these conversions, I’ve seen it done.

Burkman claims some lawmakers are already supporting his bill.  We’d love to get a hold of that list.  Perhaps some reporter should ask Speaker Boehner and GOP party chair Reince Priebus what they think of Burkman’s legislation.

Burkman, who has reportedly worked as a lobbyist for the officially-designated hate group Family Research Council has an unique take on family values “decency,” as his phone number was allegedly found on the DC Madam’s phone list in 2007.

Burkman’s other recent clients include Qest Corporation, US Oil, LA Wind, Eastgate Pharmaceuticals, DC Solar  Solutions, Blue Ridge Energy, Green Gallons, Dakota Oil, Colorado Asphalt, Dr. Ron Fagen, Suneco, DOW Hydraulics, American Building Supply, Penn Air Group, Genelux, Apache Oil, Louder Than Words Dance Theater, among others.

I wonder how they feel about legislatively gay-bashing.
